To All Alumni:
The online ballot for the election of the alumni candidates to the Alumni Corporation Board of Directors (also known as the Alumni Council) is reached by clicking on the "Continue" button at the bottom of this page. Using your 2-digit class year and Election Validation Number (received by email and/or mail) and clicking "login" will bring you to the on-line ballot (click on the names to see biographies and personal statements) to cast your vote.
In making your selection, consider the candidate who will best serve Colgate and offer the distinguished record of Colgate service the university and its alumni deserve. Much time and effort have been put into the Alumni Council Nominations Committee’s selection of its slate of candidates. We strongly believe in the integrity of the selection process and urge your support of the Alumni Council nominee, William C. Baker ’70, identified on the ballot as “Nominated by the Alumni Council.”
Each year the Alumni Council’s Nominations Committee considers hundreds of candidates, including those petition candidates who expressed an interest in being considered, and identifies the most qualified candidates to serve the needs of the Council in order to have a balanced, representative and diverse slate. This year, one petition candidate is challenging an Alumni Council nominee (any alumnus/a who gathers 75 signatures can be a petition candidate).
Your Alumni Council has 55 active, engaged alumni volunteering in advisory and service roles to the university. In making its annual selection from a pool of more than 300 candidates, our Nominations Committee considered those alumni who have demonstrated commitment and active alumni service to Colgate, and who will represent the diverse backgrounds of the entire alumni body. From bankers to teachers, Greek-letter alumni to independents, area club leaders to career advisors, and spanning more than 70 years of graduating classes, the Alumni Council members are a diverse group of alumni with a demonstrated history of volunteerism and commitment to Colgate. Serving Colgate is a privilege our Council treats with commitment and care. We address a wide range of issues important to alumni, administration, faculty and students. While encouraging and embracing multiple points of view, we value the collegial and dynamic manner in which we work with all members of the Colgate community.
Cast your vote either by voting online or by returning the paper ballot you receive in the regular mail.
Ballots must be received by mail or online by June 3, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. EDT, or if voting in person, delivered by hand by the individual who is voting, using the original paper ballot within 15 minutes prior to the 9:45 a.m. start of the Alumni Council’s annual meeting on Saturday, June 4, 2016.
