Each year the Alumni Council’s Nominations Committee considers hundreds of candidates, including those petition candidates who expressed an interest in being considered, and identifies the most qualified candidates to serve the needs of the Council in order to have a balanced, representative and diverse slate. This year, one petition candidate is challenging an Alumni Council nominee (any alumnus/a who gathers 75 signatures can be a petition candidate).
Your Alumni Council has 55 active, engaged alumni volunteering in advisory and service roles to the university. In making its annual selection from a pool of more than 300 candidates, our Nominations Committee considered those alumni who have demonstrated commitment and active alumni service to Colgate, and who will represent the diverse backgrounds of the entire alumni body. From bankers to teachers, Greek-letter alumni to independents, area club leaders to career advisors, and spanning more than 70 years of graduating classes, the Alumni Council members are a diverse group of alumni with a demonstrated history of volunteerism and commitment to Colgate. Serving Colgate is a privilege our Council treats with commitment and care. We address a wide range of issues important to alumni, administration, faculty and students. While encouraging and embracing multiple points of view, we value the collegial and dynamic manner in which we work with all members of the Colgate community.
